Preventing Peace
The prevention of peace ether nationally or internationally is a complicated topic dually to the fact that everyone blames something else. For the most part I am not an expert in this field but can come up with certain conclusion to what obstacles peace faces when it’s being implemented. The factors one must consider to figure out what prevents peace are numerous but if I had to limit and count them ranging from most important to least they would be, human nature, political motivation, and beliefs. Although these factors can be accredited to prevent peace both nationally and internationally ill focus on a more broad spectrum that includes these.
Lest start with the most important obvious factor preventing peace which would be human nature. It has to do with our genetic makeup that no one man can change. With the dawn of man came to instincts man needed to survive. These primal instincts were developed by us humans to survive even if it meant stepping on others to do so. An example of human nature preventing peace would be Saddam Hussein rise to power through the Bath party. It can be described as a cruel, bloody series of events that made him leader of the country. It was human nature to want to rise to the top and be king of the jungle. Peace cannot be accomplished if man does not learn to overcome these primal instincts to want to survive and be on top. In a more literal sense until everyone can learn compromise and get over ancient primal instincts peace will never be achieved.
Another factor major factor one must take into account in order to truly understand the prevention of peace is political motivation. The issue has to do with the fact that most governments consist of the majority leading the minority. If the two parties don’t agree then this is a prevention of peace. Political motivation has changed history for the good and the bad it all steams for differing ideas that can’t find compromise. An example of political motivation being an obstacle for peace is the ordeal with Iran. The citizens are for the most part feed up with the religious government controlling every aspect of their lives. There were demonstrations met with violence this past year. The two opposing ideals of the ruling party and the oppressed create a situation were again peace cannot thrive without the help of compromise.
Beliefs are the last major prevention of peace because it ties in to all the other preventions but on a much broader scale. It is human nature to have beliefs weather good or bad is based on opinion but they are also a subset of a political motivator. The ways beliefs inhibits peace is due to the fact that one two are exactly alike. So the will clash and create controversies for as long as humans are around. The biggest clash of beliefs right now is the ones between the western predominantly Christian world and the Middle Eastern predominantly Muslim world. The two work on a set of beliefs systems that completely differ from one another causing everything but peace. The radical extremist of the Middle Eastern countries take their beliefs to the edge and would be willing to cause a war to defend them. With this kind of extremism peace will never be accomplished it every one was in compliance with one another.
In conclusion the prevention of peace in my opinion stems from human nature, to political motivation, to beliefs with pulls them in together in a very broad sense. Peace can never be achieved unless all these aspects are addressed and satisfied through compliance. Human nature was the biggest inhibitors manly because that would be the hardest obstacle to face and change. The only solution I can think of to solve that problem would have to be time. In terms of political motivation there is no simple solution but if I had to throw one out it would have to be cooperation. Two different parties with opposing ideas will always create I situation were peace cannot be achieved. By using cooperation they can create a somewhat more suitable situation for peace to stem. Finally beliefs are the last inhibitor to peace because beliefs are not set in stone and can be changed with relative ease if the right attention is given. So in my opinion peace will never truly be achieved due to the many variables preventing it from being successful.
